O conselho foi formado seguindo os seguintes passos: 1. Cria\u00e7\u00e3o de um Grupo de Trabalho; 2. Caracteriza\u00e7\u00e3o do territ\u00f3rio e seus usos; 3. Planejamento de atividades; 4. Mobiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de setores; 5. Defini\u00e7\u00e3o dos setores que compor\u00e3o o Conselho; 6. Formaliza\u00e7\u00e3o do Conselho; estruturado em quatro diretorias espec\u00edficas: 1. Diretoria de gest\u00e3o; 2. Diretoria de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o; 3. Diretoria de pesquisa; 4. Diretoria de educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental. A cria\u00e7\u00e3o das redes sociais possibilitou uma amplia\u00e7\u00e3o do acesso \u00e0s informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre a Floresta da USP para comunidade interna e externa \u00e0 Universidade, com 287 seguidores no Facebook e 337 no Instagram.
