Freshman and Exchange Students Welcoming<\/h3>\n

Giro Cultural, in support of the units in welcoming the freshmen, offers a panoramic tour for the new students at the beginning of the school year. During the tour, mediators present the campus and share tips and curiosities with the freshmen. Giro Cultural team is composed by mediators from several units, so the freshmen can interact with veterans from different courses and ask questions about the campus. Giro Cultural also supports the International Cooperation Commissions (CCINTs) of several units in welcoming the exchange students with the panoramic tour. The tour is marked by the integration of the exchange students and the welcome to the university campus.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Integration Project FMVZ-USP and Etecs Centro Paula Souza<\/h3>\n

The Integration Project FMVZ-USP and Etecs of Centro Paula Souza aims at arousing students’ interest in Veterinary Medicine and increasing the number of entrants from public schools at USP. The School of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics (FMVZ) at USP receives students and teachers from State Technical Schools (Etecs) from several regions in the State of S\u00e3o Paulo. Through a partnership with Giro Cultural, the participants take the route “Panoramic View”, in which they get to know USP’s units and the Pra\u00e7a do Rel\u00f3gio.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0USP and Professions Fair<\/h3>\n

Created in 1990, the USP and Professions Program aims to provide subsidies to students so that, with the help of their families and teachers, they can be guided in the important task of choosing a professional career. The program’s main actions are the USP and Professions fairs and monitored visits by high school and college students to USP’s teaching and research units on its seven campuses. The fairs have been held annually since 2001 in the countryside (rotating among the various campuses) and since 2006 in the capital, attracting a large audience. Information is given about USP’s courses and units, as well as about cultural and extension activities. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2020 the monitored visits were temporarily suspended, but the USP and Professions fair took place digitally, presenting online a program that included exclusive videos, lives, chats, vocational guidance and artistic-cultural presentations. In 2021, a digital edition of the event will also be held. The USP Fairs and Professions are large three-day events that take place twice a year.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0USP Science and Technology Week<\/h3>\n

Giro Cultural is also present in the USP Science and Technology Week. The event is an action coordinated by the PRCEU, and is part of the National Week of Science and Technology, an initiative of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Each year, several USP units are gathered around a common program. The event’s central idea is to offer an opportunity for the population to get in touch with researchers, professors, laboratories and research spaces. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The USP Science and Technology Week provides, free of charge, an interactive space to divulge the scientific and technological production developed by the University. In addition, the help of specialists and accessible language, aims to encourage curiosity and motivate society to research and discuss the impacts that science and technology can promote for the benefit of society. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
