Fostering Culture and Extension Initiatives

The Pró-Reitoria de Cultura e Extensão Universitária, within their budget assignments, financially supports the initiatives generated by the decisions of the Colegiados Superiores such as the Conselho Universitário and the Conselho de Cultura e Extensão Universitária.

Taking into consideration the characteristics of the activities developed at University of São Paulo, the Pró-Reitoria supports the holding of symposia, meetings, forums, and national and international meetings related to the area of Culture and Extension, as well as seeks to support new culture and extension initiatives from Units, Institutes, Museums, and City Halls.

These initiatives should aim at university extension through the application, and dissemination of knowledge or cultural initiatives produced at the University, with actions oriented towards the interaction with society in a general manner, focusing on reaching a wide audience to explain the combination of these actions with research activities and the education of proponents – although the project does not consider the simultaneous and immediate execution of these three spheres of activity.

Since 2012, the project applications requesting funds from the Pró-Reitoria de Cultura e Extensão Universitária through the Comitê de Fomento às Iniciativas de Cultura e Extensão, as well as the execution of all stages, monitoring, and accountability reports are conducted through the Sistema Corporativo Apolo (https://uspdigital.usp.br/apolo/).
