One of the largest and most traditional USP events in the area of outreach and relationship with society, the USP and Professions Fair has been marked, for 19 years, by an intense participation of young people in search of their professional future. In each edition, the public has contact with teachers and researchers, as well as university students, enabling them to get to know the courses and careers up close, to ask questions, and to broaden their horizons. The Fair offers cultural activities, exhibitions of collections, vocational guidance, and information on student access and permanence policies.
In 2019, more than 100,000 young people participated in the two annual editions of the event – one in the capital and another in one of the campuses in the interior of the state – in an action to democratize public education and reduce school dropout.
Faced with the current covid-19 pandemic, the University was challenged with the preparation of an event with the same content, but in digital form. Since it was not face-to-face, this year’s USP and Professions Fair took place in a single edition, covering all USP campuses.
