The Semana de Arte e Cultura is conducted annually by the Pró-Reitoria de Cultura e Extensão Universitária da USP and is fully consolidated in the University’s academic calendar. This achievement is not only due to Resolution 4366 of the Conselho de Cultura e Extensão, which was established in 1997, but also to the spontaneously unifying nature of its artistic and cultural actions, which are implemented in all of USP campuses.
It fulfills its integrative role in society, performing activities programmed by the teaching units, institutions and coordinating bodies from USP campuses. The cultural potential of our professors, students and employees emerge with so much vitality that even the essentially technical units produce artistic and photographic exhibitions, choir groups, theater groups, orchestras, concerts and dance. In this rich environment, it is not unusual for talents to be revealed among the units and organs dedicated essentially to culture. Society is also fully benefited by this events – not only for the diversity and quality of the activities, but also for its gratuity.
