The Centro MariAntonia da USP, in partnership with Ápis Cultural and the Bairro com Vida (Neighborhood with Life) movement, is holding a talk entitled O que se pode aprender com a acolhida aos refugiados no Brasil? (What can be learned from welcoming refugees to Brazil?) on January 31, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Rui Barbosa building, with free admission.
The speakers will be Jean Katumba, president of the Pacto pelo Direito de Migrar (PDMIG) África do Coração (Africa from the Heart), Laura Lopes, director of the ADUS Institute, and Luciana Maltchik Capobianco, founder of the NGO Estou Refugiado.
The lecture aims to question how the reception and inclusion of refugees in the community is going, because of our real reception capacities and whether we can provide tangible and intangible goods to make them feel welcome.
