Cuban researcher conducts workshop “Corpo migrante: um corpo ressoante”

Comunicação - PRCEU - 08/03/2023

Between August 17 to 19, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., interdisciplinary performance artist Ana Kavalis is conducting the free workshop “Corpo migrante: um corpo ressoante” at Centro MariAntonia of USP .

The workshop, which has 20 vacancies, is open to anyone interested in the topic in question, in somatic and performative practices of the body, including working with the voice and language, and preferably those who have no problem practicing in public spaces.

There will be three consecutive days, lasting 5 hours, with participants working in Parque Augusta on Friday and Saturday.
The Cuban-German artist will address the migrant experience through somatic vocal and bodily performative practices. The migratory experience is understood broadly, beyond the mere act of migrating from one country or city to another. Based on her personal experience, Kavalis explains that “this crossing is a place of constant movement, of becoming and deep listening, both inwards and outwards. It is a dialogical movement, sometimes painful, sometimes more fluid, through which I inhabit and transform space. In this place of intersection, I am both a recipient and an active agent”.

To register, fill in the form – https://forms.gle/AQZdAPU3TDfMTtu26. There will be a selection process if the number of applicants exceeds the number of vacancies.
