USP, in partnership with Fundação de Apoio a Universidade de São Paulo (FUSP) and the bank Santander, is opening applications to the 1º Edital Santander / USP / FUSP de Direitos Fundamentais e Políticas Públicas, in order to financially support culture and university extension projects that relate to these themes. Entries must be submitted in person at Pró-Reitoria de Cultura e Extensão, located at Rua da Reitoria, 3rd floor, south wing, up until November 16, 2016.
The public notice will endorse 15 projects, in the amount of R$ 5 thousand each, and will receive these projects in two categories:
– Fundamental rights, with human rights projects to contribute with the reduction of prejudice, such as the ones relating to race and ethnicity, gender, and the insertion of disabled people;
– Public policies, with projects aimed at social responsibility, such as access to information, archives and education, preservation of cultural heritage, collective health campaigns and educational actions that strive for the improvement in society’s life quality.
Dissemination courses and workshops; educational actions, campaigns and promotion activities; elaboration of educational material; preservation and dissemination of collections; and maintenance of exhibits are all among the established categories.
The project must be proposed by an active professor of USP and must contain the approval letter from the director of the applicant’s unit.
The selected projects will have 12 months to be executed, from February 1, 2017. The list of approved entries will be released on December 12, 2016.
