The international event gathers experts from Brazil and abroad to discuss scientific dissemination.
Conducted by the Pró-Reitoria de Cultura e Extensão da USP, the seminar will focus on science museums around the world and proposals for effective work on scientific diffusion.
The event Ciência à Vista – I Seminário Internacional de Políticas Universitárias de Difusão Científica e Educação em Ciências will take place on July 10 and 11 of 2015. Conducted by the Pró-Reitoria de Cultura e Extensão Universitária da USP, the meeting will bring together the main names associated with scientific dissemination in Brazil and abroad to exchange experiences and present results in their areas of activity. The event will open with lectures depicting some standout museums from Spain, England and Ireland. Afterward, there will be discussion panels with specific themes: science museums’ architecture, audience mediation, and financing and management.
The participation in the event is free of charge for those interested and the registration must be made on the SIGN UP link. There are 75 spots. The seminar will take place at the Parque CienTec, located at Av. Miguel Stefano, 4200, Água Funda, São Paulo. Lunch will be offered to registered participants and simultaneous translation will be provided.
According to the event coordinator – USP’s assistant pro-rector of culture, João Marcos de Almeida Lopes – this is a rare opportunity to get to know varied experiences more closely: “We designed the event as an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences by putting participants into closer contact with the guest speakers, trying to have the debate contribute to the formulation of new proposals, which could be exploited by all. The guidelines for the formulation of university policies for scientific dissemination have to be collectively planned with all of the social agents involved in science education strategies and in building a true ‘scientific culture'”.
The registrations for the event are closed due to the termination of available places. If you want to leave your pre-registration on the waiting list, fill out the form and we will contact you in case of vacancy after the confirmation of the list.
